Ashiatsu DeepFeet Therapy

NEW! There is no longer a weight limit for Ashiatsu with my new style of giving Ashi!! The overhead bars are gone and I've transitioned to using silks now.

Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique…as in my bare feet massage you! The first time I held those bars and used my feet to give the massage I knew this was meant for me! I can't wait for you to experience it! I've since moved from bars to silks, buy my love for Ashiatsu hasn't diminished a bit!

If you crave deep tissue work, you'll love Ashiatsu DeepFeet Therapy! Inspired by Eastern massage techniques and adapted from ancient forms of barefoot massage, Ashiatsu ( Ashi = foot; atsu = pressure) is a highly effective treatment for those who suffer from chronic back pain. Because I am using the soft flat surfaces of the soles of my feet, this massage is less pinpoint invasive (and therefore less painful) than deep tissue massages given by hand. But don't be fooled, less discomfort does NOT mean I'm doing less for your muscles, it's quite the opposite actually. Your muscles will tighten up as a reflex to pain to try to protect themselves, without that pain from standard deep tissue your muscles will stay pliable and relaxed, allowing me to use my body weight to sink as deeply into the muscle as we need to to create release.

Although the roots of Ashiatsu came from the Far East, this American adaptation is truly a western phenomenon. The barefoot massage technique uses deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. It uses the therapists body weight as the driving force for the massage, a force that simply can't be duplicated by hand. I use sarga silks for support, balance and precise pressure.

It's often called the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet!

Since Ashiatsu is a deeply compressive form of massage, I must take extra precaution with certain client conditions.

Ashiatsu is not recommended for those with: High blood pressure, Pregnancy or trying to conceive, Recent injuries or surgeries, Contagious skin disorders, Compromised immune system, Acute liver or kidney disorders, Certain medications, Acute auto immune disorders, Recent surgical implants, Advanced Diabetes

Post-Ashiatsu Massage clients should avoid the following for a day or two:

Long periods of sitting, lifting heavy objects, contact sports, 100% effort exercise, heavily drinking alcohol

*Instead, after Ashiatsu Massage, it is best to rest and recover, hydrate, stretch, and use hydrotherapy
